Kānuka Blend Honey MGO 55+

Our Kānuka blend honey is tested and contains 94.4% Kānuka/Mānuka pollens.  It is made from our bees foraging nectar from flowers mainly from the larger Kānuka tree, which is a cousin to the smaller Mānuka tree.  This tree mainly flowers from late November to February in the Northern parts of New Zealand.  The honey is usually harvested between January and February.  This is a nice tasting honey with an earthy flavour with a light sweetness.

Kānuka is known to contain high levels of phenolic compounds that are thought to contribute to the health benefits of Kānuka, including stimulation of healing processes in the body, anti-inflammatory effects, and it’s use in wound dressings.  On going research is continuing into the health benefits of this unique variety of honey, that has promising potential.
